When they aren't collecting, they spend as much time as possible with their grandchildren. Although they do not get to as many ballgames as they used to, they still enjoy watching them all play!

Retired teacher with 22 years' experience as an English teacher and guidance counselor who was dedicated to students' success.
Couple Retires from Service in Education

After closing the service station, he provided safe transportation for Limestone County students while driving a bus for West Limestone and Owens (Sugar Creek).
Candle Making Hobby now a business
What began as a hobby grew into a business while creating eco-friendly candles that burn cleaner, reflecting passion for sustainability.

"As a founder of Jackson Starfire Candles, my vision is to blend traditional artistry with modern design, offering our customers a touch of elegance and sophistication in every product. I worked as a mechanic for years and retired from driving a school bus for 24 years. As a hobby, I began creating special clean-burning soy candles for my family and friends. That's how "Jackson Starfire Candles" began in 2017. I thoroughly enjoy making these creations in my retirement while piddling in my shop. Rita & I enjoy finding serendipitous treasures; thus, the combination of our pursuits created our little retirement business adding "Simply Serendipity" to our Jackson Starfire Candles. You'd be surprised at all the treasures we stumble upon while out rambling & rummaging at auctions and estate sales.

After our youngest child of four began kindergarten, I studied at Calhoun and Athens State and became a teacher in 1994, I loved teaching but retired for health reasons in 2016. Since retiring, Billy & I have enjoyed rummaging through estate sales & attending auctions. We try to find collectibles that were once loved and appreciated by those who've gone before us. And then, we strive to preserve those treasures for future generations.
In an effort to seek better health, we both discovered the benefits of Mounjaro / Tirzepatide peptides for reducing inflammation and helping with weight loss. In as much, we strive for natural healthy alternatives, such as milling whole grains to bake our own whole grain bread, canning & preserving (a true Southern grassroots tradition), locating grass-fed meats, seeking to find wholesome Amish-raised fruits & vegetables, & learning / sharing the art of peptide use as a healthier investment in anti-aging & longevity--which allow us to shy away from so many chemical prescriptions that often cause more harm than good.
Together we enjoy finding ways to enrich others' lives through our little business endeavors. We have a commitment to quality, craftsmanship, healthier choices, and innovation.
For over 25 years, Billy skillfully worked as an automotive mechanic who repaired motors, transmissions, and pumped gas to feed our family of six, all while coaching all 4 kids' teams in various sports.
